One Voice for Volusia coordinates a coalition that connects non-profit, governmental and community-based organizations along with local businesses to promote system and community improvements for the benefit of all in Volusia County. It is a valuable time to network with fellow community leaders, build partnerships, gather current information and mobilize quickly and effectively on important community issues using best practice methodologies.
The coalition meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The meetings are held at the Volusia County Health Department, located at 1845 Holsonback Drive in Daytona Beach. Meetings average about 100 participants and to get a feel for typical meeting here are a few agendas: Town Hall Agenda 6-13-18 and 11-9-16 Coalition.
GRANT OPPORTUNITY! Coalition members currently have the opportunity to submit their work to be included in the CDC’s Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) RFA being submitted by One Voice for Volusia. This five-year initiative will focus on the following four strategies: (see attached worksheet and pages 5, 6 and 7 in the NOFO): Tobacco, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Community-Clinical Linkages.
