One Voice for Volusia Coalition Meeting – Handling Difficult Conversations

Join One Voice for Volusia for our monthly coalition meeting on Wednesday, June 14 from 9-10:30 a.m. We will meet at Daytona State College’s Daytona Beach Campus (1200 W. Meeting Topic:
We’ve all experienced the temperature in the room rising, our stomachs in knots, voices intensifying, and tensions soaring. Difficult conversations are common at work, whether with peers, managers, clients, vendors, suppliers, or direct reports. We’ve all had bad experiences. Perhaps you gave someone bad news, your manager lashed out at you, a direct report got emotional during a meeting, or a client vehemently disagreed with your perspective. During this session, we’ll explore why we tend to avoid difficult conversations, learn how to apply tools to effectively tackle tough conversations, and discover ways to manage emotions – ours and others to keep the conversation moving forward.

About the Speaker:
Deb Featherston

Deb earned a Master’s of Science in Adult Education from Indiana University, is an ICF trained coach, and is certified in a variety of assessments. Deb is the former Vice President and Founder of a US-based career publisher, where she was a driving force of their revenue growth and sustainability.
