Connecting Our Community
J. Michael McCormick will present Home Safety Alert: Trends in Poisonings. We will look at the latest trends in poisoning in the home and the simple things we can do to keep our families safe. J. Michael McCormick, or Mike as know him, is the Media Relations/Education Coordinator for the Florida/USVI Poison Information Center – Jacksonville and comes with a wealth of information and stories.
After the Coalition meeting, the Lions Club will offer no-cost vision screenings with their state-of-the-art vision camera. Have your eyes checked and learn about the Lions Clubs’ capabilities around vision and diabetes screenings.
In addition, we are accepting donations of goodies and baby items for The Chiles Academy students and their little ones in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Examples include candy, chocolates, lotions, and other fun treats for the students along with baby items, including onesies and small toys, for their families. The Chiles Academy welcomes teen parents and their children as a public charter school and currently have 25 students on campus.
