One Voice for Volusia manages and supports a variety of initiatives and often works with community providers and agencies to address community-wide issues. Initiatives include those created by One Voice for Volusia and activities in support of other agencies.
Our organization serves in a helping the helpers capacity and hosts monthly Coalition meetings on the second Wednesday at 9 a.m. Information is maintained in our Event calendar. Coalition meetings cover health and human services-related topics that are important to the community and timely and are often brought forward by members.
One Voice for Volusia coordinates meetings such as the All Abilities Working Group, Substance Use Disorder Sub-committee of the Volusia Flagler Behavioral Health Consortium, thrive by five Collaborative, and Vaping Knowledge-sharing Group.
Initiatives:
- Convening and facilitation of monthly Coalition meetings, All Abilities Working Group, Substance Use Disorder Sub-committee, thrive by five, and Vaping Knowledge-sharing Group
- Education and awareness building around prevention topics (community tabling, event attendance, speaking engagements)
- Communication and marketing around substance use prevention and community efforts, including the Community Connector, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Deterra and Narcan distribution
- Safe storage and disposal training
- Resource development and consultation
- Youth advocacy and advisory
- Contextual Leadership training
- Prevention website and resources
- Support of community-wide planning through the Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan development
